MSTP Faculty Receives Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award
Stephen Waggoner, PhD, was named the 2020 recipient of the UC Richard Akeson Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award.
Dr. Waggoner is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics and is also a highly involved faculty member within the MSTP, serving on various committees.
MSTP student, Ayad Ali, who is a fourth-year graduate student in Dr. Waggoner’s lab, presented the award to Dr. Waggoner at the 2020 Virtual Graduate Student Research Forum. When presenting the award to Dr. Waggoner, Ayad commended Dr. Waggoner on being both “approachable and deeply passionate about graduate student education and well-being.”
